NYLO finds clean air nothing to sneeze at

March 12, 2008

ATLANTA (March 10, 2008) - The new XP by NYLO Hotels will feature allergy-friendly guestrooms, thanks to an agreement NYLO announced today with PURE Solutions North America.

Each of the select-service lifestyle hotels will have at least 10 PURE Rooms, with a recommendation that up to one-quarter of the inventory incorporate this comprehensive air purification system.

"Of all lodging brands, NYLO has the highest percentage of PURE Rooms," says John Russell, CEO, NYLO Hotels. "We're proud to be the industry leader in improving indoor air quality for the health and comfort of our guests."

NYLO Hotels (http://www.nylohotels.com) offers a fresh take on mid-priced lodgings, with a unique, urban loft design; tech-friendly amenities; and lobbies as social hubs. The lifestyle hotel innovator is a two-brand company. Its core brand is the upscale, full-service NYLO hotels. XP by NYLO is the limited-service, 90- - 150-room brand extension, just launched in January 2008. Allergy-friendly guestrooms is a standard now in both the sister brands. The flagship NYLO Plano at Legacy has one floor, 47 rooms, as dedicated PURE Rooms.

"NYLO Plano is the only hotel in the Dallas market with PURE Rooms," Russell notes. "Allergy-friendly accommodations are our most popular ones, the first to sell out on any given night. Now we're pleased to offer the option for mountain-fresh indoor air quality at XP by NYLO, too."

Each NYLO PURE Room follows a seven-step process designed to kill 98 - 100% of indoor allergens and bacteria. A Class 2 medical-grade air purifier does most of the work, circulating air through filters four - five times per hour All-natural Tea Tree Oil keeps the heating and cooling system contaminant-free, while PURE Shield, applied to every surface throughout the room, makes it difficult for bacteria, viruses and other contaminants to survive. Among the additional techniques: hypoallergenic linens and covers to keep air fresh and make hotels stays more pleasant for guests.

Allergy-friendly accommodations appeal to travelers who are sensitive to odors as well as to the 70 million Americans who suffer from allergies, asthma and other respiratory illnesses, according to estimates by the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology.

"When you walk into a PURE Room, you notice the difference immediately," comments Brian Brault, CEO, PURE Solutions North America. "The air is crisp and clean, like you're on top of a mountain."

With the growing consumer demand for improved indoor air quality, some hotels and brands are developing their own scaled-back air sanitizing technology, Brault points out.

"When it comes to air quality and guest comfort, we refuse to cut corners," Russell asserts. "We wanted the most all-inclusive system available. We're proud to go with PURE Solutions NA, the market leader, to certify and maintain the healthful environment in each of our PURE Rooms.

NYLO's strict no-smoking policy further promotes clean indoor air. Smoking will be prohibited throughout all NYLO properties, including guestrooms, employee areas and public spaces. With smoking limited to comfortable, designated outdoor areas, the fee for smoking in a guestroom is $300.

The XP Experience

When the full-service NYLO Plano opened in Dec. 2007, it broke the mold on the mid-priced hotel stay with its unique blend of high style and high affordability. Now on a mission to redefine the select-service category, XP by NYLO also will feature enhanced amenities, this time at nightly rates of $90 - $110.

XP by NYLO creates a bold, urban loft design with a redbrick facade, soaring ceilings and flexible open space. The expansive lobby, for instance, will be bright and airy, with 20-foot ceilings and huge windows. Travelers will sink into oversized chairs there surrounding a giant brick fireplace.

Guestrooms will feature 10-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls and windows that take up most of an entire wall. Contemporary furnishings will include soft pendant lighting and the exclusive XP by NYLO bed dressed in luxury linen and backed by a fabric headboard. Among the other accents and furnishing: a comfy couch for reading; rich, mahogany-hued coffee table; original artwork; and oversized desk with ergonomic chair.

Extra Perks

XP by NYLO will offer a streamlined boutique hotel stay for travelers on the go. Along with the allergy-friendly guestrooms, the XP experience will take travelers beyond the traditional limited-service hotel stay with these amenities:

- Lobby Wine Bar. Evenings, the big draw will be the lobby wine bar, promising a cozy place to relax with colleagues and friends. The wine bar will feature soft custom lighting, oversized chairs and majestic fireplace reaching 20 feet high.
