Hyatt Summerfield Suites opens in Fort Lauderdale

March 16, 2010

Dania Beach, Fla.—Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and OTO Development, LLC, today announce the opening of Hyatt Summerfield Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport-South, completing the final phase of the country’s first joint Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites
development.

“We are thrilled to partner with Hyatt on the first-ever Hyatt Place-Hyatt Summerfield Suites joint development. The Hyatt Place hotel, which opened in January, has been a tremendous success and already surpassed our expectations. Thanks to Hyatt Summerfield Suites’ distinct offerings, we are confident that travelers to the Fort Lauderdale area will embrace the brand the same way they did Hyatt Place,” said Corry Oakes, CEO and president, OTO Development, LLC.

“Fort Lauderdale’s varied mix of business, leisure, domestic and international travelers make it the ideal location for this first-ever joint Hyatt Place-Hyatt Summerfield Suites development,” said Gary Dollens, senior vice president, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “These brands complement each other very well and we believe the brands’ welcoming environment, helpful staff and practical amenities will exceed the expectations of this traveler mix.”

Hyatt Summerfield Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport-South is just off of I-95 and Sterling Road. The hotel is located just 2.5 miles from Hollywood International Airport and three miles from Port Everglades Cruise Terminal. For additional convenience, the hotel will offer a complimentary shuttle to both Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades Cruise Terminal.
