CHICAGO, IL – May 13, 2010 – Hyatt honored owners and developers of its Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites hotels at a national conference held recently at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch.
“The owners of Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites have been instrumental in bringing the Hyatt name to new markets in a way that reflects the high standards of quality and service our guests expect from Hyatt,” said Gary Dollens, global head, franchise and select operations,
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “Hyatt strives to be the most preferred brand among owners, employees and guests. Our ownership partners are obviously critical in achieving this mission because they help us to communicate the Hyatt brand to our employees and guests.”
Hyatt presented a total of four awards:
* The Strategic Partner, North America award was presented to InterMountain Management to recognize how its strong culture, performance and operating philosophies have resulted in a long-term, multi-brand relationship with Hyatt. InterMountain is a long-standing
supporter of Hyatt Place with four hotels already in operation and the fifth, Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown, scheduled to open in June.
* Developer of the Year, North America was awarded to OTO Development, honoring the company’s involvement with Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites. In 2010, OTO has opened one Hyatt Summerfield Suites hotel and two Hyatt Place hotels, bringing its total
number of Hyatt select-service and extended-stay hotels to five.
* Corporex /Commonwealth Hotels earned Best Opening, North America for Hyatt Place Salt Lake City Airport. The hotel opened in September 2009 and was recognized for the collective opening efforts, including pre-opening sales efforts, staff training and overall
readiness. The company recently opened its first Hyatt Summerfield Suites hotel and also plans to open a joint Hyatt Summerfield Suites-Hyatt Place development later this month.
* Hyatt Place Portland Airport, which is owned by The Summit Group and opened in November 2009, received Best Overall Project, North America. The first Hyatt-branded hotel in Oregon, the property earned this distinction for its location, construction efficiency and the project’s complexity, among other qualities.
