The 200-room boutique midtown Manhattan hotel, was awarded GS-33 Green Seal certification at the silver level, making it the 34th Kimpton property to be awarded the honor.
The Inn of the Year winners are selected in part by reviewing each property's guest satisfaction scores, which are calculated using the results of surveys that are emailed to hotel guests within three days of their checkout.
The Hervey Feldman Award, named in honor of an Embassy Suites pioneer and the brand's first president, recognizes the General Manager of the Year. The 2009 honor went to Tim Billing of the Embassy Suites San Luis Obispo.
The hotel, located within a galleria shopping center with more than 200 shops, restaurants and attractions, has had 26 consecutive years of AAA 4-diamond awards—the longest 4-diamond run in Dallas.
Cambria Suites Akron-Canton won the distinction, based on the hotel's quality assurance scores, including guest satisfaction, overall room product condition and staff service.
Kimpton's top score of 92.1 percent for Q4 2009 in Market Metrix's rankings, rounded out the company's consistent first-place rankings for each quarter of 2009.
The results are based on three key components: quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and brand standards; customer satisfaction scores rating staff service; and the quality of the hotel's physical accommodations.
