Bill Marriott receives first Cornell Icon of the Industry award

New York--On June 2, J.W. "Bill" Marriott Jr., chairman and CEO of Marriott International, received the first Cornell Icon of the Industry award, presented by the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
 
More than 500 people gathered at the Marriott Marquis to attend the gala, which was a fundraiser for programs and scholarships at the School of Hotel Administration.
 
The event also honored TIG Global co-founders Fred Malek and Trip Schneck with the Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship's Innovator Award.
